A Fall Poem and Our Holiday Schedule

Book with a read leaf resting on the pageLibrary staff member, Jodi, wrote a poem about fall that we wanted to share.  Jodi has written some fabulous poems honoring our volunteers, staff, the library, and reading.  Thank you, Jodi, for sharing your talents with us!

Fall

Fall is fast upon us,
And there’s a chill in the air.
Leaves are falling all over,
And the trees soon to be bare.

This is the time to be thankful,
And appreciate the little things.
Family, friends, and books.
And everything in between.

With Fall comes Thanksgiving,
and a meal with all the trimmings.
There’s corn and mashed potatoes,
And gravy from the turkey drippings

When it’s chilly outside and you want to stay in.
Make some cocoa and read a book.
Find a little hideaway,
Your own little reading nook.

Curl up next to a fire,
Wrapped in a soft, warm throw.
Forget about the world outside,
and let your imagination go.

It doesn’t matter what or when,
Or where the storyline will lead.
Anytime is a good time,
To pick up a book and read.
