This Week Is National Library Week!
What is National Library Week?
National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities.
Join us for a fun filled week highlighting how the Iowa Library for the Blind and Print Disabled help you find your joy!
Check out the schedule for this week!
Monday – Reading in All Formats
A day to celebrate accessible literacy, inviting readers and advocates to explore the power of choice through braille, audio, and large print. It’s about ensuring every story is available to every reader, in the format that fits them best.
Iowa Library for the Blind and Print Disabled support this by providing reading in all formats:
- Braille
- Large print
- Audio
Tuesday – National Library Workers Day
A day for library staff, users, administrators, and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers.
We’re here to support learning and growth, and our patrons brighten our days.
Wednesday – National Library Outreach Day
A day to celebrate library outreach and the dedicated library professionals who are meeting their patrons where they are.
We love meeting people, sharing our services, and finding new ways to support you.
Thursday – Take Action for Libraries Day
Help us build the future of accessible reading. Today we invite library lovers to take action through volunteering and advocacy to help our library provide the best programs and services to Iowans.
The Iowa Library for the Blind and Print Disabled is supported by:
- The Friends of the Iowa Library for the Blind and Print Disabled
- Library Consumer Advisory Committee
