Join the Iowa Department for the Blind from June 25th to July 1st for a series of virtual presentations celebrating National DeafBlind Awareness Week! Each day from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, guest speakers will share their unique experiences as DeafBlind individuals. Sign language interpreters will be provided for all sessions.

- Thursday, June 25th – Carol Manning, Deafblind Specialist at the Iowa Department for the Blind
Carol will introduce National DeafBlind Awareness Week and give a brief presentation honoring Helen Keller, whose birthday is June 27. - Friday, June 26th – Dr. Sara Coleman, Iowa Department for the Blind Commissioner
Dr. Coleman will present on “Living Happily on the Changing Spectrum of My DeafBlindness” - Monday, June 29th – Payton Martin, DeafBlind Iowan attending the Helen Keller National Center
Paxton will share about her goal of becoming a teacher’s assistant and her overall journey with DeafBlindness. - Tuesday, June 30th – Tim Sheets, Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa
Tim will share about his journey as a DeafBlind individual. - Wednesday, July 1st – Beth Jordan, Great Plains Regional Representative for the Helen Keller National Center
Beth will present this year’s campaign theme, Connected by Touch, and provide an overview of HKNC’s DeafBlind youth and adult programs.
