The Case of the Missing Mascot: Join the P.I.A. This Summer!
Headquarters is in a state of emergency. The Library Mystery Mascot has vanished, and the Prehistoric Investigation Agency (P.I.A.) is looking for the best Junior Explorers and Lead Detectives in Iowa to help us crack the case.
This isn’t just a summer reading program: it is an eight week interactive rescue mission that will take you through time, science, and mystery. Whether you are a veteran sleuth or a first-time explorer, we need your skills to bring our prehistoric friend home.
Mission Briefing: The Basics
- When: June 8 through July 31
- Where: Virtually on Zoom (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM)

Every week brings a new focus to our investigation:
- Mondays: ART Clue Connections
- Wednesdays: Interactive Exploratory Investigation
- Fridays: STEM Theme Lab featuring a special guest
Gear Up: Your Explorer Pack
When you join the team, you don’t show up empty-handed. Upon sign-up, agents receive a specialized Explorer Pack to help with field research. Your kit includes:
- Agent Thermos: A custom textured thermos with a 3D Dino keychain.
- Detective Essentials: 24 official dinosaur footprint clues and tracking wristbands.

Your 8-Week Field Log
Our journey together will cover everything from “Pasta Paleontology” to “Dino Taking Flight Exploration.” We will be joined by incredible guests, including the Lazy J Rescue Ranch, Iowa Storm Survivors, and even a special story from a rescue pilot.
As you rise through the ranks, you will earn Field Agent Character Badges and an official Rescue Key. If we solve the mystery together, you will receive your very own Miniature Mystery Mascot to keep as a souvenir of your successful mission. Word at headquarters is that Pablo might even drop by with the final clue!
