I-80 Reading Road Trip: California
We are off on our I-80 Reading Road Trip! First stop, California!
Known as the Golden State, California is home to almost 40 million people. California became a state in 1850 and the capital is Sacramento. Interstate 80 starts in hilly, bustling San Francisco and goes for approximately 205 through the state of California. This month enjoy books set in California or books about events that took place in California. There’s something for everyone this month: mystery, romance, biographies, and more!
Almonds are the official state nut of California, so enjoy a snack of healthy, delicious almonds as you read your books. And don’t forget the magnet for your refrigerator!
Participants will also receive a tactile map the United States with I-80 running through all the states. Keep track of where we’ve been!
