Serenity Massage & Energywork Recap:

It was an absolute joy to welcome Blake Taylor, who shared his inspiring journey with us. Blake spoke candidly about his path: from feeling unfocused as a teenager and realizing his initial college choice wasn’t the right fit, to ultimately enrolling in massage therapy school at age 31, a decision that completely changed his life.

He detailed the trials and moments of struggle he overcame while completing his 1,000 hours of training to earn his degree in 2010. Blake also highlighted some unexpected areas of growth, noting how mastering customer service and navigating business software as a blind professional have greatly expanded his skill set. When asked for advice by those interested in pursuing a career in massage therapy, Blake encouraged them to be their own advocate, to persevere, and to fully utilize available resources and support systems, including family, grants, and loans.
