The countdown is almost over! We are so excited to invite you to Experience the Cosmos: The James Webb Space Telescope Traveling Tactile Exhibit at the Iowa Library for the Blind and Print Disabled.

Before the exhibit opens its doors on Monday, September 14th, we want to make sure you have all the details you need to visit, participate, and explore space through hands-on, accessible learning.

Exhibit admission is free. Fall programming is free as well. All you need to do is register with links to get started below.

🏛️ Exhibit Hours

Stop by to explore the traveling tactile exhibit during these times:

  • Hours: Mondays 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • 1st Saturday of October, November & December 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

🎨 Makerspace Monday Night Workshop

Monday, September 14 at 6:00 p.m.

Kick off opening night with a very special guest: Kristie Ortiz! Kristie brings over 30 years of experience working with children, advancing educational academics, and creating richly crafted, STEM-driven experiences. As the lead of the popular creative group “Art Attack,” Kristie will be tying space themes and our new exhibit directly into an engaging, hands-on workshop session.

Bring the whole family and/or friends are welcome both in person and on Zoom!

🎒 Virtual After-School Program

Tuesday, September 15 at 4:15 p.m.

Our weekly after-school programming returns! Perfect for young learners looking to engage with fun, hands-on activities, monthly supply kits, and interactive projects throughout the school year.

Tuesday, September 17 at 5:00 p.m.

Designed specifically for tweens and teens, this club goes beyond standard reading to dive into deep discussions, creative activities, and connecting with peers.
