Dr. Lesslie, a doctor of faith tells of various incidents that occurred when he ran the emergency room in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Some of the events are humorous, others are sad, gross, frightening and even touching. He worked as a physician for thirty years and seemed to be a doctor who truly went the extra mile for his patients.

John Grisham is very passionate about the prisoners who are convicted who are innocent. He partnered with Jim McCluskey who actually worked with some of those who were falsely accused and served time in prison. In this book, are ten stories of men and women who served time and were later found to be innocent, most through DNA. Some of the lawyers, judges and other inmates went to great lengths and lied to make sure the accused would stay in prison.

Joe Pickett is up in the mountains and he hears shots. He follows the sound and finds a Federal Employee shooting elk. A number of elk are dead in the snow. A storm is coming when Joe arrests the man. As they start back down the mountain, the man escapes custody. Pickett is able to track him through the snow, he finds him dead of an arrow shot through him. The Federal agents with Joe’s help need to find the killer. The Feds seem to be against Joe, especially when a group of extremists move onto Federal Land. There is a difference of opinion on how to get them to leave. The Feds think they should be confronted and Joe thinks they should wait and see what happens.
