Welcome to the second episode of the June 2024 edition of the Library News podcast!

In this episode, we discuss this month’s D-List, featuring books with “June” in the title. This episode highlights our Staff Pick, Tools of Engagement, and our Magazine of the Month, Magnolia Journal. Learn from our Tech Tip about the best way to update your NLS eReader and other electronic devices.

The Library is also excited to announce our June Events:

  • The Youth Summer Reading Program, Read, Renew, Repeat. Programs will be conducted virtually with Youth Librarian, Denise Bean, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:00-2:45 pm. Ages 0-18 are welcome!Image: Read, Renew, Repeat
  • An 8-week STEM experience based on the STEM Scale-Up Kits provided by the Iowa STEM Council for teens 14 years and older. 
  • The 2024 Iowa Reading Conference, “One World, Many Stories,” June 25 – June 26 at the Scheman Building at Iowa State University in Ames. One World, Many Stories logo of an open book with iconic buildings from around the world emerging from it

The library is proud to celebrate Nathan D., a finalist from Iowa competing in the Braille Challenge finals in the Varsity group for the second year in a row! He will be competing at the National Finals, June 23 & 24, at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
