FAQ Friday: Quality In, Quality Out! Hand-Written Educational Materials

Imc Information

We wanted to take a moment to address submitting photocopies, scanned documents, jpegs, pdfs, and the focus of this post, hand-written materials. These documents must be in a format that is clean of clutter and legible, especially those hand-written materials.

Hand-written materials must have sensible structure so the braille transcriber can format the print-to-braille per Braille Formats, 2016. The braille transcription must have uniform structure so the blind student can follow the flow and intent of the material being studied.

Please review all educational materials before submitting them for transcription. Doing so will give the IMC Team clear and clean documents to work with for the transcription.

Questions? Contact IMC Staff at imclibrary@blind.state.ia.us or 515-281-1323.

The IMC Team will provide answers to the questions we have received during the week in our FAQ Friday posts.   We hope these are helpful!
