On September 22nd our library had the privilege of hosting our very first SOAR EVENT. This will be the first of many more to come! Our children and their families went on a Braille Walk through the skywalk, talked technology, got their hands messy with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) and explored future opportunities with Braille. After a delicious lunch, the children had a spectacular hands-on experience with our Zoo friends. The Zoo brought with them; a blue tongue skink, a star tortoise, who stunned us all with his beautiful shell and a domesticated ferret who tickled our fancy, and let us not forget the friendly ball python snake.
Our library is simply thrilled to announce our OCTOBER SPOOKTACULAR SOAR Saturday, October 27, from 10-2:00 p.m. We will have many ghoulish and fun activities planned, including the haunted hallway, “trick or treating” and so much more! Please don’t forget to wear your costumes, that is, if you would like!
Thank you Easter Seals for being a part of our first SOAR Saturday and a very SPECIAL THANKS TO THE FAMILIES for making our first SOAR Saturday such a success!
Don’t miss out on next month’s S.O.A.R event! If your student hasn’t registered but would like to join us, please view the link below to help you get started in signing up for the SOAR Program this fall. https://iowadeptblind.wufoo.com/forms/z8ngug80kb1g2g/.
