Book Bundles

The Book Bundles Program is a specialized library service designed for schools, catering to children of all ages who cannot read standard print. By registering for this program, schools can open doors to literacy by receiving monthly bundles of braille or large print books. These bundles, consisting of up to 10 books, are provided directly to your classroom or school library each month.

  • Application and Registration Process:
Schools must first apply for the Iowa Library for the Blind and Print Disabled service by completing an Online Institution Application.
Once the application is processed, schools can complete the Online Book Bundles Program Registration to request Book Bundles for their classrooms.
  • How it Works:
Our library will check out and mail to your school a bundle of 10 themed books each month in braille, or large print formats. The themes cover a wide range of topics, including Stories, Favorites, Nature, Little Readers, Our World, Fairy Tales, Seasons, and Celebrations. The book bundles can be returned to the library using “Free Matter for the Blind”.
  • Pen Pal Program:
As part of the Book Bundles Program, sign up your student to become a Pen Pal Partner. After the Pen Pal letter has been written, place it in the black box to receive a Pen Pal response letter in the following Book Bundles Box. This program has been successful in the past and encourages your student to read and write braille.
