Look out Jack and the Beanstalk, here we come! At our April S.O.A.R. Saturday, youth participants and their families learned about gardening and planted vegetables. The vegetables were placed on the roof at the Iowa Department for the Blind. My, my have they grown in the past few weeks, with abundant rays of warm sparkling sunshine and delicious gulps of rain, the tomatoes and peppers have all hit their stride!
We are happy to report, drum roll please …
- KAYLA – Tomato plant with 6 tomatoes, 15 inches, wow!
- JORDYN – Tomato plant with 4 tomatoes, 15 inches, zing!
- TRENTON – Pepper plant with 1 tiny little pepper, 13 inches!
- MILES – Bell pepper plant, with many beautiful flowers in bloom and you know what that means! 14.5 inches
