Today our library is joining communities and libraries across the nation in observing National Library Outreach Day. A day for celebrating library outreach and the dedicated library professionals who are meeting their patrons where they are. Whether it’s providing a program about Braille at an elementary school, hands-on library activities at community gatherings, or training for public librarians, these services are essential to our community. Our library staff go above and beyond to spread awareness about accessibility, Braille literacy and the Iowa Library for the Blind and Print Disabled.
National Library Outreach Day is an opportunity for library advocates to make their support known—through thanking library staff, writing a letter or e-mail to their libraries, or voicing their support to community leaders.
Your library, drawn to you!
