Staff from the Iowa Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, the Iowa Department for the Blind, and volunteers hosted October’s Spooktacular S.O.A.R Saturday at the library.
Youth patrons and their families toured a Haunted Hallway, decorated pumpkins from a mini-pumpkin patch, and participated in other frighteningly fun activities.
Parents and youth patrons also had the opportunity to sign up for Braille Bits and the Braille Buddy Program, two new programs being offered through the library.
- Braille Bits is an introductory and correspondence-guided class providing braille lessons online or by mail for parents.
- Braille Buddies is a program that allows children to correspond in braille with other children around Iowa.
Don’t miss out on these wonderful opportunities, come to the next S.O.A.R Saturday on January 26, 2019. For more information about S.O.A.R. or other programs, please contact the library at 515-281-1323.
