Each Friday the Instructional Materials Center Team will provide answers to questions asked by educators throughout the week in the IMC FAQ Friday post. We hope these are helpful as schools place orders for students who need accessible educational materials.
The following formats are available in Athena for ordering instructional materials:
- Braille: bound braille books or worksheets which are produced as print stapled to braille. You will be asked to select format properties such as contracted/uncontracted, single spaced/double spaced, and single sided/double sided.
- Large Print: standard large print book is 20-point font
- Digital Book:audio book
- Electronic Braille: brf files (braille ready files) to be read on a braille display or notetaker or embossed at the school. Please note how many cells are needed.
- Print Braille: children’s picture books that have a transparent sheet of braille between each print page or contain clear braille labels on each page.
- Braille – Assessment: practice ISASPs, Fast Bridge Reading or Math Assessments, or Dynamic Learning Maps
- Large Print – Assessment: Fast Bridge Reading or Math Assessments
- Electronic Text: electronic text
