February’s S.O.A.R. Saturday was a magical day! The Iowa Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.  Youth patrons and families in attendance had a chance to meet Dr. Seuss, played by Dr. Robert White, and to hear him read “And to Think I Saw it on Mulberry Street.”  Along with Truffula Tree crafts, a “One Fish, Two Fish” fishing game, and some STEM fun with Oobleck, everyone had the opportunity to snack on their very own Truffula Tree cupcakes.Truffula Tree Cupcakes

For those who were unable to make it to February’s S.O.A.R., a link to Dr. White’s reading of “And to Think I Saw it on Mulberry Street” will be available in the near future.

Musical March

Join library staff members for a day full of music and fun. Tim West and Freight Train Frank Strong will be at the library to share their love of music with our youth patrons. Participants will learn how to make their own musical instrument and use them to participate in a drum circle.  After a yummy boxed lunch, we’ll put on our dancing shoes as Tim presents a live musical concert.  Be sure RSVP to let us know you’re coming: https://tinyurl.com/marchsoar
