Iowa State Fair
Summer is almost over,
It’s time for the Iowa State Fair!!
The smell of corn dogs and funnel cakes
Fill the hot, muggy air.
There’s so much to look at,
Where do we go first?
Maybe to the lemon-aid stand
The quench our mounting thirst.
There are rides and carnival games
And everything to eat on a stick.
You can even find a magician
To show you an incredible trick.
Don’t forget about the animals
That are at the fair too.
There are pigs, and cows, and horses,
And also, the petting zoo.
There are shows in the grandstand,
One almost every night.
Then come the fireworks
To the sky they take flight.
If you want to hear more about fairs,
There are plenty of books to choose from.
There are state fairs, county fairs and even book fairs
You have to check out at least one.
