It’s National News Literacy Week

January 24-28, 2022 is National News Literacy Week.

National News Literacy Week raises awareness of news literacy as an essential life skill and provides educators, students, and the public with easy-to-adopt tools and tips for becoming news-literate.

The 2022 National News Literacy Week theme is “Care Before Your Share.” The week will include a series of events, including a national NewsLitCamp to help library patrons, students, and community residents become more news-literate in simple and engaging ways. Quizzes and podcasts, resources and much more can be found at the News Literacy Project website. One feature is videos addressing news literacy and the impact at an Iowa high school.
