September Recap @ The Playground

BUZZ! BUZZ! BUZZ! That is what we did, we were all as busy as bees @ The Playground! Makerspace Monday had the air filled with the scent of fresh strawberries as we created and made Beeswax strawberry Lip balm with our very special guest Abigail Kelly. We didn’t stop there, with our wings still moving in a rhythmic fashion we rolled beeswax into beeswax candles! STEM and Stories was also a honey of a good time, as we learned about the many benefits of honey. Did you know that just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, gee that sounds familiar. We were tucked inside a honeycomb with the finger “bee” puppets as we listened and learned even more about honey bees! Thank you Abigail for being our guest @ The Playground in the month of September!  If you missed these great programs, don’t worry, we have the recordings on our Mondays and Saturdays Page.

COMING UP NEXT IN OCTOBER

We are learning all about recycling, but in a fun way of course! Abracadabra, that worn out shirt will be turning into a personalized, AND usable Tote Bag at our Makerspace Monday night event!

STEM and Stories Saturday is hosting Sarah Borzo, Educator Coordinator from Metro Waste Authority. She will teach all of us about how to take better care of our planet. Not only are you going to become a planet-saving-hero, you will make all those butterflies smile as you create a Butterfly Feeder!
