We hope this blog will be a fun and lively way to share information about the library, talk about books and authors, share information about upcoming events and more. Today we would like to simply share a bit about the library and our services.
The Iowa Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped provides books and other materials in alternative formats to Iowa residents who are unable to read standard print materials. Materials are provided in braille, large print, audio, print/braille, descriptive video and electronic text. Registered patrons may also download audio, braille and magazines online on BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download).
The Instructional Materials Center (IMC) is the library unit which assists students and others with their textbook, educational materials and career needs. The IMC provides textbooks and educational materials to students in kindergarten – college. The library also provides career resources and assists Department of the Blind clients and library patrons access materials and information to assist in choosing and finding successful employment.
