Library Consumer Advisory Committee

LCAC-logoThe Library Consumer Advisory Committee (LCAC) works with the Iowa Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped to assist in:

  • increasing public awareness of the library
  • increasing the potential of library services to underserved individuals
  • assisting in policy development and strategic planning

The National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, Library of Congress, requires that each network library have an advisory committee composed of a representative group of users.

The LCAC meets four times a year on the last Friday of January, April, July and October. The size of the Committee ranges from eight to fifteen members. The Committee maintains a Facebook page to communicate with library patrons and the public. Here for the LCAC Facebook Page
